IOFringe header 2017

The IOFringe promotes the diversity of excellent local music from the St Albans district whilst also offering inspirational performance and participatory opportunity to complement the International Organ Festival.

The International Organ Festival itself runs from 10th to 22nd July.

IOFringe is managed by St Albans Arts Team in association with St Albans Organ Festival on behalf of St Albans City and District Council.

Dates Wednesday 28th June to Sunday 9th July 2017
Line up This year’s line-up includes folk, bluegrass, pop, blues, choral, indie and more. There will be vintage organs, an open mic special and the wonderful Wheeze - an interactive self-powered portable organ made from old vacuum cleaners, bellows, balloons, accordions and whatever else can be found!

Highlights include the acclaimed Carrivick Sisters with their sumptuous take on folk and bluegrass along with Youtube star Nicholas Freestone whose rendition of David Bowie’s Life on Mars on the St Albans Cathedral organ captured the hearts of the millions.

Elsewhere you will find New Roots 2017 finalist Emma Risely, the massed ukulele sounds of Katie’s Jumping Fleas and a special performance concluding the IOFringe Community Project featuring students from Cunningham Hill School and The University of the Third Age.
