St Albans at Christmas itinerary
The perfect city destination for groups looking for an alternative, more boutique-style, European Christmas Market. The tour starts in the morning, with groups gathering at the Cathedral, where they will enjoy a festive 12 Days of Christmas Group tour, followed by a mince pie and mulled wine in the Abbot’s Kitchen.
After lunch, there’s time to squeeze in an Historic St Albans – A City Revealed tour before heading back to the Christmas Market to enjoy a glass of gluhwein.
Available: Throughout the Christmas Market opening dates
Duration: Half day or full day
Points to note: due to the historic nature of the area, some pavements are uneven, particularly the area around Vintry Garden. The Market is extremely busy at weekends, and so we advise you to bring groups on weekdays for a more relaxed visit. The Charter Market, with 160 stalls, takes place each Wednesday and Saturday, and offers a vast range of non-Christmassy goods.
Key dates: Carols on the Hour takes place at St Albans Cathedral on the last Saturday before Christmas.
