Information for stallholders

If you would like to apply for a stall at the 2017 St Albans Christmas Market, find out more here.

St Albans knows a thing or two about markets, having one of the oldest regular markets in the UK, dating back to the 9th century. So what better City to hold a European-style Christmas Market?

St Albans would like to extend a very warm welcome to its Christmas Market, which promises to be a magical and unforgettable experience.

The event will take place around the magnificent 11th-century St Albans Cathedral and in the beautiful Vintry Garden - a walled garden adjacent to the Cathedral.

Visitors will enjoy browsing the high quality produce on offer in up to 60 traditional wooden chalets circling the Cathedral and into the Vintry Garden. The pretty Cathedral quarter sits right at the centre of a triangle of St Albans 'oldest' treasures: the only working Medieval Clock Tower; the oldest Public School in the country; and, for visitors to the market who fancy a pint of real ale, the oldest pub in the UK, Ye Olde Fighting Cocks, just at the foot of the Abbey Orchard, a stone's throw from the Cathedral.

Carols on the hour every hour will add to the festive atmosphere, as will snow, entertainers, twinkly lights and plenty of Christmas cheer!

It's easy to get here too. We're just 22 minutes from London St Pancras, a short hop off the M1 and M25 motorways, within easy reach of London Luton and Heathrow airports.

All products offered for sale should be of a unique nature and not readily available in high street shops. Handmade, traditional and low volume produced goods are preferred, and exhibitors should also consider:

- Retail mix ensuring a good selection of items
- Quality/safety of all items must be of a high standard and meet manufacturing guidelines
- Pricing to offer a range of products for all budgets
- Customer appeal offering a range of products which appeal to all ages and genders
- Uniqueness of products will score very highly
