St Albans Clock Tower Drawing Competition 2 Jul 2020
Let your imagination run wild and design a way for our visitors to get down from the top of the Clock Tower, without going back down the stairs!
To celebrate 175 years of St Albans Arc & Arc – the organisation which saved the Clock Tower from demolition during Victorian Times – a special drawing competition has been launched.
The Clock Tower is currently closed because of COVID-19 and is unlikely to reopen while social distancing rules continue because of the single narrow staircase. The St Albans & Hertfordshire Architectural & Archaeological Society (Arc & Arc) is asking youngsters to design a way for visitors to get down from the top of the Clock Tower in a drawing.
Your drawing can be practical, funny, high tech or whatever you like, it just needs to show how to get from the roof top down to the ground. It could be a zip wire over to the Cathedral, a fun slide or maybe our visitors could parachute their way back to the ground!
