Golf enthusiasts need look no further than Verulam Golf Club which offers terrific views and challenging play for golfers at every skill level. Well-groomed fairways and greens keep Verulam Golf Club difficult yet friendly while Batchwood Golf & Sports Centre Club and Centurion Club feature courses to test all abilities. 

Cyclists are spoilt for choice in St Albans. Adventurous bikers can try a variety of different cycling disciplines including off-road on the traffic-free cyclo-cross track and BMX on the dedicated pump track at Cottonmill Community & Cycle Centre.  

For those looking for Cycle Routes in and around the city a district-wide cycle map is available to help both new and experienced cyclists to plan their routes across the St Albans District. Westminster Lodge Sports Centre is a hub for sport lovers with all the facilities you need to stay active. The Climbing Wall is a popular choice for kids of all ages to test their agility while the two Swimming Pools are perfect for a rainy day. With a Spa and Creche, it’s hard not to be tempted to spend a little leisure time here! For more information click here. 

St Albans City Football Club has a loyal local following and if you are in the city when the team are playing at their ground in Clarence Park, it’s worth cheering the home team on. Or, if you prefer your own game of Football, head to Verulamium Park, Clarence Park, Bernards Heath Recreation Ground or Highfield Park to practise your shots. 

Anyone for Tennis? If you have your racket and are looking to play, then you can enjoy a game at a number of local venues. Try Batchwood Golf & Sports Centre for indoor and outdoor tennis courts or Abbey View Sports Complex for outdoor courts in the beautiful surrounds of Verulamium Park. 

Based at Clarence Park, St Albans Cricket Club is a community cricket club with a mix of league and friendly cricket. Check out their fixtures and enjoy a match in their home ground in a fantastic setting near to the centre of St Albans. 

If you’re looking for a team sport with a difference, Beach Volleyball could be just the thing! Head to  Abbey View Sports Complex in Verulamium Park and give you and your friends a great whole-body workout while having fun.  

What better way for the kids to cool off in summer than in the outdoor Splash Park in Verulamium Park? The fountains and water features make it perfect for kids to enjoy themselves outdoors.
