St Albans is a vibrant place bursting with things to see and do, whatever the time of year. Here’s some key events taking place in 2025.
Museum of the Moon
The incredible installation by Luke Jerram, measuring 7 metres in diameter and featuring 120dpi detailed NASA imagery of the lunar surface, will hang in the magnificent Nave at St Albans Cathedral with events taking place under the moonlight including Yoga, talks, concerts, and performances.

Festival of Film
Every year, Talking Pictures TV and Renown Pictures take over the Alban Arena, St Albans, for a star-studded spectacular of a weekend, with live on stage entertainment plus screenings of lost and rare shorts, films & TV episodes – perfect for fans of good old fashioned entertainment.

Hertfordshire County Show
Hertfordshire’s largest outdoor event. Immerse yourself in agriculture with a packed timetable of livestock and equine classes and discover awe-inspiring plant and machinery from past and present at the Farm-Yard and Countryside zones. Witness spectacular entertainment with beautiful Sports Horses and enjoy the very best of local shopping with deliciously curated produce in the Food Court and iconic Made in Herts zones.

St Albans International Organ Festival
The world’s leading organ competition takes place in St Albans every two years. A celebration of inspirational music and art, which has been running for over 60 years will be taking place at St Albans Cathedral.

Summer Open Air Festival
Theatre production company OVO’s hugely popular open-air summer festival sees captivating, imaginative and surprising new versions of classic plays and stories performed in the atmospheric setting of the ancient Roman Theatre of Verulamium.

Foodies Festival
A weekend celebrating music, food and drink with live bands, cooking demos by top chefs, barbecue skills, baking theatre, artisan market, drinks theatre, cookery schools, kids’ activities and more. This year’s headliners are Example, Symphonic Ibiza and Blue.

St Albans Folk Festival
The Folk Festival is a vibrant weekend of events including a day of dance and music in the city centre, an evening Festival Concert, and an afternoon of family fun. It’s a great day out for all!

Alban Pilgrimage
Join the annual Alban Pilgrimage, an impressive city centre procession of giant 12ft tall carnival puppets and a colourful re-enactment of events which led to Alban’s execution at the hands of the Romans. Pilgrimage worship at St Albans Cathedral brings the day to an end.

Pub in the Park

Gin & Jazz
The hugely popular Gin & Jazz Festival is fantastic showcase for retailers and hospitality venues in historic George Street who open their doors for late night shopping.
